Do you ‘How’ the ‘What’?

Shaping ‘point B’ (see two previous posts) is an art, a skill that can be learnt and trained. People who are not trained at this usually have one main barrier: When they start thinking of the ‘What’ (point B), their thought immediately switches into the ‘How’. This in turn makes the ‘What’ look like ‘impossible’ or ‘difficult’ so they either stop trying or they come up to a ‘point B’ that is uninspiring or not fundamentally different from point A.

People who succeed to change and hit their goals know how to separate the ‘what’ from the ‘how’. Do this exercise to train yourself at this skill:

Exercise:

Repeat the exercise in the previous post. But this time assume for a minute that anything is possible. That you don’t have any barriers to consider, any current ‘problems’ to solve or any restrictions that could make your ‘point B’ look unachievable including money, time, or perceptions about your current skills or potential. Just form your point B ‘from scratch’, as if you start painting on a blank piece of paper.
