How to Shine through your ‘Why’

People who make a difference in life are those who have shaped a very clear ‘Why’ and managed to put it out first.

At the level of business, companies like Apple differentiated themselves by putting out their ‘Why’ first (we build technology that makes people’s lives easier & better) in a period where all other tech companies advertised complicated technical features. Apple’s products came out simpler and friendlier to the end-users and made a huge success!

People who clearly articulate their ‘Why’ in job interviews are proven to have a better chance of getting the job, especially if the company’s vision and purpose are compatible. In our everyday life it is easier to make ‘painful changes’ (career or relationship shifts, shits in everyday habits) if we articulate a strong and clear end-purpose, to ourselves and to others.

Exercise:

Practice in introducing yourself through your ‘Why’, right after your name.

Then practice linking your ‘Why’ with the specific circumstance in which you meet people. For example: ‘Hi, I am John Taylor, owner of the coffee shop X across the street. My purpose is to add some more relaxation and fun to the world, so that they live a more beautiful life. Therefore i would be delighted if you visited my shop one of the next days to spend a relaxed & special time with yourself.’

It may sound peculiar to you in the beginning, but this simple practice will activate of your Q-Mind by solidifying your ‘Why’ and by systematically linking it to your everyday life. Observe how this makes people more easily connected to you, every time you practice it.
