When you decide that you want to change something in yourself it is important that you give the correct ‘command’ to your mind, considering its programming language. You should only use simple, short phrases in the form of positive affirmations in the present tense! (‘I am competent of..’ ‘I am committed to be…’ etc.). One common mistake people do is the use of the phrase ‘I will try to…’. If you want your Q-Mind to be activated and help you change you should stop thinking and saying this now! ‘I will try..’ implies a serious doubt for the end-result and the mind immediately translates this into ‘I will fail’. Therefore your ‘effort’ has already failed before it even began!

Exercise: Think about the last time you said to yourself ‘I will try to…’. What was the end-result? How committed were you really in doing what you said you ‘would try to’? Now choose one thing you are 100% committed to change. Shape your own mind-command in the form of a short, positive affirmation in the present tense. Decide to repeat this as a Mantra frequently, in your thoughts or speaking it out loud every day. Track down any progress you feel or see and acknowledge yourself for any small positive shifts.
