Exercise:
Write down your answer to the following question:
‘What is the purpose of my life?’
Consider the following perspectives: ‘If there is a reason why I occupy space in this planet, what would be this reason?’,
To help yourself even more, imagine that you are living the last day of your life. You are leaving this world with a sense of fulfillment, achievement, peace and happiness. What is it that you have achieved in your life which has anchored these emotions?
The important thing here is to BEGIN WRITING the first thing that comes to your mind, even if you think that nothing comes out. So, write down -on a piece of paper- a short sentence that begins as follows:
‘The purpose of my life is to…(your contribution to the world) so that …(the impact on others)’
Start writing even if what comes out does not satisfy you!
Every day, at the same time, right down again the answer to the same question, without looking at what you wrote the previous days. Checkout your answer versus the following criteria:
1. A short and very clear statement.
2. An end-statement (i.e. cannot take another ‘why’ question).
3. Something that authentically comes from your inside (from your heart AND gut), versus something that is a ‘must’ or just likeable to others, or something that many people say. Ιt can be something that may reveal a natural inclination of yours, for example something that you may have wanted, or may have been doing very naturally as a child.
4. Something that not only benefits you, but also helps others (as many as possible).
5. Something that is bigger than YOU now and is not affected by current circumstances.
6. It makes you feel willing to ‘sacrifice’ something that you already have, in order to achieve it: for example a status or a certain feeling. In other words, it makes you get out of your comfort zone.
7. It may define each and every segment in your life (ex. Job, family, relationships) because it is ‘one level up’ in relation to them.
Keep on writing down your answer every day until you feel that you repeat the same thing with exactly the same words, and all the above criteria are fulfilled.
When you achieve this, you will have owned one if the most powerful tools for the activation of your Q-Mind: your ‘Why’.
If you want, share your draft ‘Why’ in a comment here so you can help others be inspired.
